THOUGHTS ON CHRONIC PAIN
Over the past twenty years of treating bodies and chronic pain, I began to notice a pattern: if I treated just the physical and released tissue restrictions, the pain relief would be very temporary. The person would feel better afterwards but the pain often came back. However, if we began to speak honestly about what was causing pain in the client`s inner life, we were able to get long-term improvements.
My experience is that chronic pain is rarely a biomechanical issue. In the overwhelming majority of cases, the physical pain is acting as a barometer for the spiritual health of the individual. Pain is a sign that something is stuck in the man or woman`s life.
Almost without exception, the deeper emotional or spiritual issues are the main driver of pain in the client. Unresolved issues, regret, lack of forgiveness, excessive worry. These are just a few of the emotional issues that can create chronic pain in one`s body.
WHAT ARE SESSIONS LIKE?
Sessions are an hour long and focus on two themes:
This is done using a variety of techniques. Sometimes direct pressure is best. Sometimes a more subtle touch is necessary. A good session will also bring you into more clarity and groundedness. The increase in awareness that comes with Rolfing sessions tend to ripple out into other areas of life. As your body awareness increases, so does your intuition.
Figuring out the mysteries of a painful body can be a little like doing good detective work. You try some things and notice what shifts. One of the challenges is that we still tend to think of mind/body/spirit as separate entities. They are not. If a person`s inner life is in turmoil, the effects ripple up into the physical body. If you`re someone who has struggled with chronic pain, I can help. The only prerequisite is that you are ready for a shift.
MY BRIEF BIO
I`ve been a structural bodyworker (Rolfer) for the past twenty years. I practiced in New York City for ten years and was featured in TimeOut New York magazine and Metro newspaper. I have taken hundreds of clients through the classic "ten series", including Broadway and film actors, professional modern dancers, CEO`s and executives, and plenty of everyday folks. My intention is for my work to be deep and effective yet gentle and allowing. If you`re having chronic pain, I can help.
"I loved my sessions with Tony Rezac! His work is skilled, intuitive, and very effective. I highly recommend him!"
-Simran Sethi, TV host
HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?
Currently, sessions are $150 in Seattle and $170 in NYC. I currently see clients in Seattle/Bellevue. I travel to NYC twice a year to do sessions. If you are in either of these cities and wish to receive a session, let me know and we`ll make it happen.
